This update was released on October 06.

The update fixes a vulnerability in the way DNS (domain name system) works on Windows 10 that allows an attacker to inject a remote code execution vulnerability.

The security update addresses the issue by ensuring that DNS server addresses are correctly set when using a domain name that’s registered with the DNS server of the Windows Host Services.

The DNS server is configured in the same way as any other DNS server, meaning that an attacker could set up a DNS server that was not configured with the proper DNS settings, according to Microsoft.

Users who upgrade to this version of the DNS update can also use it to configure DNS settings for other Windows operating systems.
