AUSTRALIA’S FIRST DNS SERVICE TO WORK WITH CLOUDDDNS will launch in Australia on Tuesday.
CloudDNS is a cloud-based DNS service that is a collaboration between the US-based company, Google and the Australian government.
It allows people to access their internet from the comfort of their homes or offices, with no need to download a browser or install additional software.
KubeDns is designed for people who live in Australia, have a limited internet connection, or use a VPN, and would like to make their own DNS servers.
“We’ve spent a lot of time with our customers to get them the best experience possible,” Kube DNS co-founder Mark DeMartini said.
“They want a DNS service where they don’t have to worry about network latency, where they can connect to all their devices, and have all their settings taken care of for them.”
Kube DNS will work across Australia, with some regional services already available.
“For example, our regional service is coming to Sydney and we have regional DNS in Victoria, so we can have local DNS service available in Melbourne, in Canberra, in Perth, and so on,” Mr DeMartinis said.
Mr DeMarti said the company was happy to have a dedicated Australian customer base and was looking forward to being able to expand into other areas.
“CloudDns offers a service that’s really easy to use and we can scale to many, many users in Australia,” he said.
Kubernetes DNS, which is a DNS provider based in Russia, was also launched in Australia this week.
Kubecontrol, an Australian startup which focuses on cloud-powered DNS, is also working with Kube and CloudDns, and hopes to offer services to people in other parts of the world.
“The fact that we’re not in the US and Australia is pretty important for us,” Mr DiMartini told ABC News.
“Because of that, we think it’s really important for other countries to have similar solutions.”
Mr De Martini said that the launch of CloudDones DNS service in Australia would be a significant milestone in the evolution of the industry.
“What CloudDos DNS does is basically make it much easier for Australians to use the internet from their homes, but it also makes it easier for people in China to access the internet,” he added.
“This is an example of how cloud DNS and Cloud DNS can complement each other in a very positive way.”
